Welcome! This forum will allow us to extend our great class discussions and discoveries outside of Room 8. Every other week, I will post my reactions, comments, and questions from one of our classes on this blog. It will be your homework over the next two days to log on and reply, commenting about your own reactions or different points of view.
To get us started: What did you think of the "Self-Made Me" poem assignment? Did you learn anything about yourself, who you were and who you have become? Did you think the peer-editing workshop was helpful? Did you enjoy the Read-Around? What would you recommend I change if I were to use this assignment in future classes?

Hi class! Just wanted to say how happy and impressed I am with your poems. You really let your creativity shine, and I was amazed with how open, honest, and self-reflective many of you were with this assignment. I hope you learned a little bit about yourselves and enjoyed the project. See you in class tomorrow!

I think that the "Self made" poems were very interesting and what's really unique about them is that people get a chance to see who they really are and dig deep into themselves to find the words and objects that describe them. I didn't really learn anything about myself, per say, but it did make me think of who I really am. That's why I like these kinds of assignments, because we get to write about something we truely know about (ourselves.) The peer editing workshot didn't help me personally, because I ended up using my same words and didn't change anything, plus I think it wouldn't work anyway, because it's weird to have people correct things that you know about yourself that they don't. I liked the read around, it made me a little nervous, but all in all it was good. I personally wouldn't change anything about this assignment, if you think so, then go ahead, but I think it's fine the way it is. I had fun and it was very fulfilling.
I think the " self-made " poems were so much fun. I love writing poems for one and I love to express myelf , cause i am such a wonderful person, lol. Anyway , i really enjoyed it , I think we should do more things like this in class. It really helps you get to know your classmates.
Hi....I REALLY liked the "Self-Made Me" poem assignment.I learned alot about myself as well as others.Unfortunately, I wasn't in school when we did the peer-editing workshop, but after looking at some of my friends, I know that it really helped them.It told them how they could change it to make it sound better so people would like it.I loved the read around because we got to hear everyone and learn about them.I loved this assignment so much... so I wouldn't change anything!!!
i love this website and i think its very cool...Ms. Carlough is the coolest teacher in northeast...this site is a good idea because it gives people who missed work in class a chance to get caught up...keep up the good work Ms. Carlough....the poems were good but mine was the best.

What did you think of the "Self-Made Me" poem assignment? - I think the "Self-Made Me" poem assignment was a very interesting and different one. It made me think of how my life really changed from my childish to pre teen years and then to teen years.
Did you learn anything about yourself, who you were and who you have become? - I learned that no matter how bad/sad are my life situations, in the end, they will always get better. Also, I learned to never give up on my dreams.
Did you think the peer-editing workshop was helpful? - I think it was helpful.
Did you enjoy the Read-Around? - I didn't read my poem yet, so I don't know how I should answer this question. If I had a chance to read it, I know I would be very nervous to read it in front of the whole class.
What would you recommend I change if I were to use this assignment in future classes? - You shouldn’t change anything about this assignment, because it is fine the way it is. It was a very fun assignment.
I think the "self made" poems were really great.
we got a chance to know each other past and we could see who we really were back then and the one we are now.
From a really skinny shy little boy turn to be a strong but not tall man and yeah im still shy like always.
About the peer-editing workshop, it was really helpful because I was wondered where i'm gonna find someone to correct my grammar and vocabulary.
Read-Around was pretty helpful too. It gave me alot of ideas of how to make my poem better
I think you don't have to change anything because this assignment is great. it works well to me.

Well, I think that the "Self Made" poem was a nice experience because I learned a lot of everyone, and i express my feelings to the whole class, and i get to know them a little bit more, so i think it was very nice to have this type of activity in class.I think I learned to realize my feelings.I also think that the peer-edeting workshop din't help me because i din't have the chance that someboby else see it because i din't have mine on time, but maybe if i had it , it could help me in somthing . I enjoy reading the poem to the class even though i was nervous. And finaly i think that you don't have to change the assement because i liked it. and bye i think this is enuogh jeje. bye ms.Carluogh
I think the self-made me poems were cool to do and very interesting. Doing this poem actually made me learn something about myself. It made me see how much I changed throughout the years because I never realize a change in me and that's weird. Peer editing workshop, well I was absent when we had to do peer editing workshop, so I can't say it was or wasn't helpful. It's weird because I actually enjoyed the read around and that's shocking, even for me. I don't think you should change anything about the self made me poems because it's fine the way it is. I liked how you didn't put a number one paper slip in any of the papers that we drew to see who went first, that was really tricky because number two had to go first since there wasn't a number one.
hello :}
I think the self made poem are very cool. I have learned about myself a lot from this. Also, the great friends I have in my class^-^,from their childhood to their teenager life, each with different unique character. I think the assignment is best as it is, no need changing kekez(sleepy:{, bb lalala).
i think the peoms was a great way for me to express myself to my classmates. It was also a great way for me to learn more About my classates.
my favorite peom was by
Jason
i relly liked doing the self made me poem because it got me back in touch with my inner child and i was able to comare myself to when i was a baby to what i am today (which is really different by the way)
